I already have the CSS and I have most of the macros. All I need is a <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">rules file<\/span>, that is, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">XMetaL<\/span>&#8216;s compiled DTD file for the documents I need to write using this new environment, a few customisations, and a toolbar. For this I need to install 3.6 Gigabytes of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Visual Studio .Net<\/span> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">XMetaL Developer<\/span>. Is it just me or does any of you reading this agree with me that this is like taking an eighteen-wheeler to buy groceries? I know, I&#8217;ve ranted about this before, but it still amazes me that the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">XMetaL<\/span> developers can allow this madness to continue.<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>C&#8217;mon, <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">JustSystems<\/span>, give us a way to customize <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">XMetaL<\/span> without having to buy <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Visual Studio<\/span>. Give us what we had before <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">XMetaL 4<\/span> and the misguided <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Corel<\/span> deal to shut out other platforms.
